Es war wieder einmal Zeit für ein Afrobeat Special bei Soul Unlimited. Einige sehr interessante neue Veröffentlichungen warten zum Teil schon seit einiger Zeit auf eine angemessene Präsentation. Ende Oktober ist bereits die vierte Folge der Inspiration Information Reihe bei Strut erschienen. Dieses Mal trifft der finnische Musiker Jimi Tenor auf Tony Allen, den legendären Drummer von Fela Kuti’s Band Africa ’70. Tony Allen gilt als der Erfinder des Afrobeat.
Auf Soundway Records ist eine großartige Compilation die Musik aus Ghana der Jahre 1968 bis 1981 präsentiert. Diese 5LP-Box (Doppel-CD) wird in der Sendung ausführlich vorgestellt.
