Das Soundspektrum dieser Soul Unlimited Ausgabe ist wieder breit aufgefächert: Jazz, Soul, Funk, elektronische Grooves und Afrobeat sind mit dabei. Die Platte der Woche kommt vom Münchner Produzenten Dusty, der mit „Mood Matters“ ein vielseitiges und überzeugendes Album vorgelegt hat. Die Platte vereint viel vom musikalischen Spektrum dieser Sendung zu einer genialen und stimmigen Mischung. Ich finde „Mood Matters“ ist das bislang beste Album von Dusty und daher zurecht die Platte der Woche bei Soul Unlimited!
Ein weiteres musikalisches Schwerpunkt-Thema ist das neue Album der Owiny Sigoma Band. Auf ihrem neuen Album „Power Punch“ arbeiten sie weiter an der Entwicklung eines aktuellen Afrobeat-Sounds der auf gekonnte Weise den 70er Sound, der von legendären Musikern wie Tony Allen und Fela Kuti geprägt wurde, mit aktuellen musikalischen Strömungen verknüpft. Ein außerordentlich interessantes und gelungenes Album!
