Seit einigen Jahren schon ist Keb Darge in Sachen Rhythm’n’Blues unterwegs. Nachdem er mit seinen Deep Funk Compilations der Funk Szene neues Leben eingehaucht hatte, konzentrierte er sich auf die 50er Jahre und erfreut nun die Liebhaber ausgefallener Klänge mit rarem Jump-Up Blues, Rockabilly und Surf. Inzwischen ist schon die dritte Folge der „Legendary Wild Rockers“ erschienen, die er zusammen mit seiner Ehefrau Little Edith herausgibt. Eine definitiv exzellente Compilation, die ich euch absolut empfehlen kann.
In eine ähnliche Richtung gehen die Macher des Labels Spoonful, die mit ihrer Reihe „Exotic Blues & Rhythm“ schon vier 10″-LP’s veröffentlicht haben, die ihrem Namen alle Ehre machen. Alles ziemlich obskure Top-Tunes, die mir ziemlich viel Hörspass bereiten!
Dazu passt dann auch bestens ein Special zu Jazzman’s neusten Sub-Labels „TT Shake“ und „Popcorn“. Ein bischen Soul gibt es zum Ausklang der Sendung ebenfalls noch. Viel Spaß beim Anhören!
