Herb Geller’s Album „An American in Hamburg“ ist ein von Rare Groove Sammlern gesuchtes Album. Nun hat Tobias Kiramyer das 1975 erschienene Album auf seinem Label Tramp Records wiederveröffentlicht. Tolle Fusion-Jazz Stücke die auch ordentlich grooven. Zwei Gastsänger veredeln die Songs noch mit Ihren Vocals: Mark Murphy, der schon seit Be-Bop Zeiten eine Jazzsänger-Legende ist und Earl Jordan von den Les Humphries-Singers. Ein wirklich tolles Album!
Absolut begeistert war ich auch von der Compilation „Mod Jazz“, die es als CD-Ausgabe schon seit einigen Jahren gibt und die aktuell erstmals auch auf Vinyl veröffentlicht wurde. Bei der Auswahl der Stücke richtete sich der Focus einerseits klar auf die Groove-Qualitäten der Songs und andererseits auf die typische 60’s Sound-Ästhetik, für die der Titel der Compilation in perfekter Weise steht. Diese Compilation ist definitiv ein Must-Have! Viel Spaß beim Anhören!
