Diese Soul Unlimited Sendung bietet ein breites musikalisches Spektrum: Los geht es mit Rhythm’n’Blues von der exzellenten zweiten Folge der Jukebox Jam Compilation-Reihe bei Jazzman Records. Weiter geht es danach mit Funk und Soul aus New Orleans. Auch für die dritte Folge der Compilation-Reihe haben die Macher von Soul Jazz Records noch genug qualitativ hochwertige Funk- und Soul-Perlen aus dem kreativen Melting-Pot New Orleans gefunden. Immer noch eine klasse Sache, auch wenn nicht mehr ganz so sensationell wie die erste Folge von New Orleans Funk.
Iron Leg von Mickey And The Soul Generation ist ein legendäres Funk-Stück. Vor gut 10 Jahren erschien eine erste Compilation mit dem Gesamtwerk der Band aus Texas. Die aktuelle Vinyl-Wiederveröffentlichung dieser Compilation wurde noch um bisher nur auf CD erhältliche Live-Aufnahmen ergänzt. Ein empfehlenswertes Album!
Die Liberators sind eine Afrobeat-Band aus Australien. Auf ihrem zweiten Album „Power Struggle“ haben sie ihren Sound weiterentwickelt, er geht noch mehr nach vorne und die Bläser sind noch satter geworden.
Danach kommen dann lateinamrikanische Sounds zum Zug. Mit der Compilation „Peru Maravilloso“ unternehmen wir einen kurzen Streifzug durch die musikalische Landschaft Peru’s während der 60er und 70er Jahre. Zurück im Jetzt geht es dann weiter mit „Fabiola“, dem aktuellen Album der Band Da Lata. Die Musik der Band um Chris Frank und Patrick Forge ist stark von afro-brasilianischen Klängen beeinfusst. Der Sound ist organischer geworden und elektronische Elemente treten in den Hintergrund. Ein grandioses Comeback nach gut 10-jähriger musikalischer Auszeit!
