Jungle Fire aus Los Angeles haben mit „Tropicoso“ ein starkes Debüt-Album veröffentlicht. Mit drauf ist natürlich auch der Monster-Track „Firewalker“ und eine ganze Reihe weiterer spannender Instrumental-Stücke, die einen brodelnden Cocktail aus Latin, Afrobeat und Funk kreieren. Klasse Album, die Platte der Woche!
Neues gibt es auch von El Michels Affair, die mit einer neuen 10″-EP am Start sind. Der Soundtrack zum James Brown Film „Get on Up“ ist ebenfalls dabei, sowie zwei interessante Compilations mit Soul aus New Orleans. Ausserdem wird auch die bei Jazzman erschienene Etta James Single Box „At Last“ vorgestellt.
