Breakestra haben ein neues Album veröffentlicht: „Dusk Till Dawn“ lotet die stilistischen Möglichkeiten des Funk Spektrums aus. Herausgekommen ist ein gelungenes und abwechslungsreiches Album, das in der ersten Stunde ausführlich vorgestellt wird. Ein weiteres Highlight der ersten Stunde ist die neue Single der holländischen Band Lefties Soul Connection. Die bisherigen Veröffentlichungen waren eher beinharte Funk-Rocker und dazu fast immer instrumental. Die neue Single schlägt eine etwas andere Richtung ein, was in erster Linie der Sängerin Corinna Greyson zu verdankten ist. „You Don’t Know“ ist ein treibendes Raw-Soul Stück, bei dem ich mir absolut sicher bin, das es die Dance-Floors rocken wird.
In der zweiten Stunde steht die Popular People’s Front im Mittelpunkt, ein Kollektiv von anonymen Produzenten, das sich dem kreativen Sampling und DJ-ing ohne Limits verschrieben hat. Ihre Vinyl-only Veröffentlichungen sind in der Tat „Sample Pleasures“. Höchste Zeit die Popular People’s Front in einem Special-Mix zu würdigen.
