Eine musikalische Reise nach Togo
Über die Musikszene des westafrikanischen Landes Togo ist noch nicht viel dokumentiert. Die Compilation-Reihe „Togo Soul“, von der aktuell beim französischen Label Hot Casa Records die zweite Folge erschienen ist, ändert dies und gibt einen profunden Einblick in die blühende Szene des Landes. Auch die zweite Folge ist wieder sehr interessant und es gibt einiges zu entdecken. Durch diese Compilation inspiriert, hatte ich die Idee eine Sendung ausschließlich mit Künstler*Innen aus Togo zu machen. Tatsächlich bin ich in meiner Sammlung auch fündig geworden und habe einiges gefunden. Neben Veröffentlichungen von Hot Casa Records ist hier auch das Label Analog Africa zu erwähnen, das auch Musik aus Togo veröffentlicht hat, so zum Beispiel ein exzellentes Album des Orchestre Abass, sowie einige Beiträge von togolesischen Künstlern auf verschiedenen Compilations des Labels. Dies eröffnet uns einen schönen Einblick in die bisher kaum bekannte Musikszene Togos. Kommt mit auf die musikalische Reise nach Togo und habt viel Spaß beim Anhören!

A musical journey to Togo
Not much is yet documented about the music scene in the West African country of Togo. The compilation series „Togo Soul“, the second installment of which has just been released by the French label Hot Casa Records, changes this and provides a profound insight into the country’s flourishing scene. The second installment is again very interesting and there is a lot to discover. Inspired by this compilation, I had the idea of making a program exclusively with artists from Togo. I actually found a lot in my collection. In addition to releases by Hot Casa Records, I should also mention the Analog Africa label, which has also released music from Togo, such as an excellent album by Orchestre Abass, as well as several contributions by Togolese artists on various compilations by the label. This gives us a great insight into Togo’s hitherto little-known music scene. Come with us on a musical journey to Togo and have fun listening!
