Es geht mit der wunderbaren Studio Rio Version von Bill Withers Klassiker „Lovely Day“ los, der entspannt groovende Bossa-Sound steht dem Song ausgesprochen gut. Danach geht es mit Toco weiter, denn seine Musik passt dazu hervorragend. Er hat gerade sein viertes Album „Riviera“ veröffentlicht und es gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut. Sonnige Brasil-Songs mit einem dezenten Pop und Folk Appeal. Sehr schön!
Erlend Oye von den Kings Of Convenience hat ein neues Projekt am Start: La Comitiva. Das gleichnamige Album ist vor kurzem erschienen. Wunderbare Folk-Songs mit zum Teil italienischen Texten, brasilianischem Flair und Soul-Feeling. Egal was Erlend Oye bei seinen vielen Solo-Projekten macht, es gelingt immer. Dieses Album ist schlicht wunderbar und könnte sich zu einem kleinen Sommerhit entwickeln.
Der brasilianische Sänger Roge aus Rio de Janeiro lebt inzwischen in Los Angeles. Dort hat er Thomas Brennek von der Menahan Street Band getroffen, was sich als eine glückliche Begegnung erweisen sollte und zu dem Album „Curyman“ führte. Dies war gleichzeitig die erste Veröffentlichung auf Thomas Brenneks neuem Label Diamond West Records. Es ist ein fabelhaftes Album geworden, bei dem der legendäre Arthur Verocai für die Arrangements verantwortlich war und das von Thomas Brennek produziert wurde.
Das Highlight der Woche kommt von Bruno Berle, ebenfalls ein brasilianischer Sänger und Musiker. Er hat vor kurzem sein neues Album „No Reino Dos Afetos 2“ bei Far Out Records veröffentlicht. Die Songs sind ergreifend schön und einzigartig. Brasilianische Folk Lo-Fi Miniaturen mit dezenter Elektronik. Großartig, das Album der Woche!
The Dining Rooms feiern das 25 jährige Jubiläum ihres Bestehens und legen aus diesem Anlass das neue Album „Songs To Make Love To“ vor. Ein würdiges Album um das Jubiläum gebührend zu feiern.
Nach 5 Jahren gibt es ein endlich wieder ein neues Album von Lucas Arruda. Er ist einer der talentiertesten zeitgenössischen Künstler aus Brasilien und sein von Soul, Jazz und Funk inspirierter Fusion Sound hat es mir angetan. Auch das neue Album „Ominira“ ist wieder großartig geworden. Viel Spaß beim Anhören!

It starts with the wonderful Studio Rio version of Bill Withers‘ classic „Lovely Day“, the relaxed grooving bossa sound suits the song extremely well. Then it continues with Toco, because his music fits perfectly. He has just released his fourth album „Riviera“ and I really like it. Sunny Brazilian songs with a subtle pop and folk appeal. Very nice!
Erlend Oye from Kings Of Convenience has a new project on the go: La Comitiva. The album of the same name was recently released. Wonderful folk songs with partly Italian lyrics, Brazilian flair and a soul feeling. No matter what Erlend Oye does in his many solo projects, he always succeeds. This album is simply wonderful and could develop into a minor summer hit.
