Die Sendung beginnt mit einem Hammond-Organ Funk Special, zuerst kommen aktuelle Aufnahmen und dann gibt es einen Tribute-Mix für einen der Meister an der Hammond Orgel: Dr. Lonnie Smith, der am 28. September 2021 gestorben ist.
Daptone Records hat sich sehr für das Revival der Soulmusik in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten verdient gemacht. Nun kommt zum 20-jährigen Jubiläum des Labels das Album „The Daptone Super Soul Revue“ heraus, ein Live-Album das 2014 im legendären Apollo Theater aufgenommen wurde. Ein großartiges Album das die bedeutendsten Künstler dieses Labels live präsentiert. Die Platte der Woche!
