Mal klassisch, mal futuristisch oder von analog bis digital.
Ein bemerkenswertes Debüt-Album von Charles Bradley, zusammen mit der Menahan Street Band aufgenommen, gibt es vorzustellen: „No Time For Dreaming“.
Außerdem einige sehr schöne Soul-Klassiker, die kürzlich wieder veröffentlicht wurden: Alben von Tal Armstrong, den Sidewinders und Marvin Perterson’s Soulmasters.
Futuristischen Soul gibt es auf den neuen Alben von James Blake und Amalia. Bei James Blake ist dieser minimalistisch, mit mit tiefen Basstönen unterlegt und dazwischen einfach auch mal nur knisternde Stille.
Das Heidelberger Label Tokyo Dawn Records hat wieder ein starkes Album am Start: „Art Slave“ von Amalia wurde vom schwedischen New Funk Maestro Opolopo produziert. Ganz große Klasse!
